Business-grade video-collaboration comes to small rooms

While enterprise-grade video conferencing is well accepted in larger meeting spaces like board rooms, conference rooms and learning centres, their wider implementation across organisation is often constrained by cost considerations.

Some organisations with a larger number of rooms or with smaller meeting (or huddle) rooms may find the cost per room/user unpalatable. Similarly smaller businesses often avoid video collaboration because the costs of enabling a room with enterprise-grade hardware seem high.

But research suggests that the real productivity benefits of video collaboration occur when enterprises are able to increase its availability and adoption to a larger number of users.

A new set of solutions from Lifesize tries to find a middle ground by providing a more compact and affordable solution which still delivers a higher-quality experience than consumer software based products.

A bit about these products:

Lifesize Icon 400 is a compact video conferencing system that combines the camera and endpoint in a single form factor (for huddle rooms) and can be integrated with Lifesize Cloud for a great video collaboration experience.

Lifesize Icon Flex is intended for existing deployments of personal collaboration applications such as Microsoft® Lync®, Skype™, Google Hangouts™ or Cisco Jabber®. Simply connect the Icon Flex to a PC or Mac® via USB and enable stunning high quality video conferences.
