Digital wired conferencing systems enable perfect audio clarity

We’ve talked in the past about the importance of audio design in boardrooms, and how good sound design and audio reinforcement can help overcome natural audibility constraints in conference rooms. Obviously, the key elements to ensuring audio clarity – in local or remote conferences – are the microphones and audio conferencing systems.

A good solution for such situations is a conferencing system like Beyerdynamic’s Wired Orbis system – which consists of a control unit, microphones and other accessories – and offers a customised speech solution for your conference or training rooms. This digital wired conference system is designed to be reliable, intuitive and functional solution for conferencing applications.

THE CONTROL UNIT

The control unit sets new standards with regard to design and operability. High-quality materials and the innovative one-button navigation concept make this control unit unique and provide for extremely simple operation and configuration of numerous functions.

THE MICROPHONE UNITS

With features like backlit, easy-to-feel silicone push-buttons with Braille and a headphone connection for hearing assistance, the Beyerdynamic microphones capture a high-quality of sound and considerably impact the overall performance of the sound system.

Some key features of this system are as follows:

Maximum reliability due to redundancy: A set up with all microphone units in a loop ensures system redundancy and maximum operational reliability. If a failure occurs within the microphone units, the conference system will still be powered from the other end of the loop.

System capacity: Excellent consumption figures (mic units use less than 1 Watt in operation even at maximum volume) enable operation with a maximum of up to 100 microphone units using one control unit

Hot plugging: Microphone units can be added or replaced, without interrupting the conference. In both cases there is automatic system recognition in the network

Interfaces: Using the RS-232 interface, the Orbis can be connected to a media control system for convenient operation of the microphones and various status displays, such as redundancy, fire alarm and audio recording

Recording: The integrated recorder allows each meeting to be recorded without an extra device to ensure the registration of important incidents. This function becomes visible only when an SD card has been inserted into the control unit

Audio settings: Orbis can be used for a variety of applications, for example it also works in telephone or video conferences or for the inclusion of a foreign language channel for interpreting purposes
