FAQ: What is the minimum requirement for HDBaseT?

According to the HDBaseT Alliance…

“HDBaseT was developed to work with the most basic LAN infrastructure, ie. Cat5e cables. However the best practices recommended by installers and integrators suggest the use of Cat6 cables for better performance and error-free transmission.”

However while HDBaseT uses an Ethernet jack (RJ-45), it does NOT work on a regular Ethernet network and equipment because it is based on a different protocol.
